Popular types of cryptocurrency signals and how they work

Moving Average (MA) is an important indicator in technical analysis that helps to determine the trend and helps to smooth our price data by creating an average price.

A rising MA indicates that the asset price is increasing, and a declining MA indicates that the asset price is in downtrend.

Here, you can read more about Moving Average, how to set it up, and how to use it for trading.

Exponential Moving Average (EMA) is used to determine a trend over a period of time. EMA is more sensitive to price movement than Simple Moving Average and thus, it is more recommended to use this signal for more accuracy.

You can read more about Exponential Moving Average, how to set it up, and how to use it for trading here.

Triple Exponential Moving Average (TEMA) smoothes price fluctuations and thus, helps to determine the trend without delays typical to a Moving Average. It is created by taking several Exponential Moving Averages and subtracting some delay. You can read more about Triple Exponential Moving Average, how to set it up, and how to use it for trading here.

Stochastic Oscillator measures the momentum of the asset price and is used to determine trends and forecast reversals. This indicator measures the price in the range from 0 to 100. If the measure is above 80, it means that the asset is overbought, and the measure below 20 means that the asset is oversold.

It is worth remembering that strong trends can stay in an oversold or overbought condition for a long time, therefore, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the price will change its movement soon.

Relative Strength Index (RSI) is a momentum indicator applied widely in technical analysis. It is used to measure the speed and value of the asset price change.

You can read more about Relative Strength Index, how to set it up, and how to use it for trading here.

Bollinger Bands (BB) is a popular technical indicator used to visualize changes in asset price volatility. Bollinger Bands are used by traders to confirm divergences between prices and indicators, determine overbought and oversold zones, and project price targets. The wider the bands, the higher the volatility. It is recommended to use BB with other cryptocurrency trading signals for more accuracy.

You can read more about Bollinger Bands, how to set it up, and how to use it for trading here.

The Parabolic SAR signal (SAR) is used to determine the trend and potential price reversals. The indicator uses the trailing stop and reverse method called SAR (it is also called stop and reverse) to determine the best entry and exit points.

This indicator appears as a series of dots that appear either below (when the trend is upward) or above (when the trend is downward) the asset price and depends on the direction of the price movement.

You can read more about the Parabolic SAR signal, how to set it up, and how to use it for trading here.

Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD) is a trend-following momentum indicator. It shows the correlation between two EMAs of the asset price. When trading based on MACD, traders focus on the direction and level of the MACD lines compared with the previous price movement. It is a valuable signal that is best used with daily data and combined with other signals.
